Quote of the Day Back to Top
The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think--rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.

They offer beginner, intermediate and advanced math level curriculums.
Unschooling Dads
This list is a place for unschooling dads. Whether you're an advocate, long-time unschooler, novice, or somewhere in the middle, you're welcome here. This list is for dads only.
Living Math Forum
This is an on-topic list dedicated to the discussion of "living math" - mathematics education using living books and materials, as opposed to traditional curricula as the primary learning tool. Discussion applies to mathematics learning from birth to adult self education, with the understanding that arithmetic is only one feature of mathematics as a whole. Math history topics will apply as well. Educators using Charlotte Mason, Thomas Jefferson Ed (relaxed classical), Montessori, Waldorf and unschooling methods may benefit from the exchange of ideas.
The Wonderful, Wacky World of "Unpreschooling"
Celeste Land
Society expects parents to send their two- to five-year-olds to preschool. But more and more parents are coming to understand how learning at home is important and meaningful. "Unpreschooling" is the concept of applying an unschooling philosophy to those years of early learning. Celeste Land details the challenges and joys of this type of education for young children, including the socialization issue, burnout, and life after unpreschooling.
